How the Pearlscent Finish Works

Pearlscent colors use fine reflective particles to create a softer, color-shifting shine than conventional solid metallic paint. The base color affects the final appearance: a light base produces a brighter, cleaner pearl effect, while a dark base creates a deeper and more dramatic metallic sheen. Test the color on a sample before applying it across an important model.

Brush Application

1. Shake each bottle thoroughly to redistribute the reflective particles.
2. Apply over a clean, fully cured primer or base coat.
3. Use smooth, thin coats and allow each layer to dry before applying the next.
4. Build two or more light layers when stronger coverage and shimmer are required.
5. Use a clean soft brush to reduce visible brush marks on larger surfaces.

Airbrush Application

For airbrush use, thin the paint gradually with POP ART Acrylic Airbrush Thinner until it sprays smoothly through your airbrush and nozzle setup. Mix thoroughly, spray in light passes and clean the airbrush promptly after use. Avoid excessive thinning, which can reduce color strength and reflective coverage.
