Description
Drybrush Paint for Fast Texture and Highlights
POP ART Drybrush Paint is formulated with a thick, controlled consistency that makes it easier to catch raised details while leaving deeper recesses darker. It is designed for miniatures, scale models, terrain, statues and primed 3D prints where quick, readable highlights are needed.
The technique works especially well on fur, hair, stone, wood grain, fabric, armor, machinery, rubble and other sculpted textures.
Available 50ml Colors
- Brass
- Gun Metal
- Light Metal
- Light Grey
- White
- Copper
- Skin
- Leather Brown
- Emerald Green
Use lighter non-metallic colors for highlights and weathered texture, or choose metallic shades for armor, weapons, machinery, trim and worn edges.
How to Drybrush
- Make sure the base coat is fully dry.
- Place a small amount of paint on a palette or textured drybrush surface.
- Load a dry, firm-bristled brush with a small amount of paint.
- Wipe most of the paint from the bristles onto a paper towel or drybrush palette.
- Brush lightly across the raised texture using repeated controlled passes.
- Build the highlight gradually until the desired contrast is reached.
Using too much paint can cover recesses and create heavy marks. Start with less paint and increase the effect in several passes.
Recommended Workflow
For stronger definition, apply drybrush highlights over a darker base color. A second, lighter pass can be concentrated on the most exposed edges and highest points.
Prepare the surface first with a compatible POP ART primer, add base colors from the Model Paint range, then protect the completed project with an appropriate varnish.
Important Notes
Keep the container closed when not in use and prevent water or dirty brushes from contaminating the paint. Color and finish can vary with the underlying base coat, brush type, pressure and amount of paint left in the bristles.
